MonkeyMedia, American user interfaces design studio, filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing it of violating three patents.

The statement of claim describes the unauthorized use of intellectual property in the Cupertino technology relating to user interfaces in the service of summarizing documents, RSS-reader and video player that can display multiple versions of a text or audiovisual content. Plaintiff alleges that owned patents are violated in Safari, DVD Player and Front Row.

According to MonkeyMedia executive director and founder Eric Bear, anybody can continue to stand idly by watching how Apple uses someone else's patents without any pay for them. However, the director continues, cooperation between inventors and manufacturers always have found a bilateral response, so not bad that Apple has turned to MonkeyMedia technology.

The lawsuit confirms the weakness of the U.S. patent system, when the invention of recorded without thorough examination, which leads to a long legal battle between the firms.
