British ISPs are dissatisfied with amendments to the antipiracy law

UK's largest providers opposed the new amendments to the antipiracy law. The proposed changes, already approved by the House of Lords, require providers to block access to sites containing pirated material.

Denial of service providers to block sites will have to prove in court. Now, on the contrary, the freezing of the site can only be accepted in court.

Representatives of the telecommunications corporation BT said that the newly amended providers will agree with the majority of claims of rights holders to terminate access to a particular resource. This will entail an uncontrolled Internet censorship. In addition, changes in legislation increase the cost to providers.

Lawmakers new proposals are an alternative to the rule of "three hits". Under this rule, users, who download illegal content, should be used twice to warn about this. Then the provider must impose sanctions - to limit or terminate access for such subscriber in the network.
