One of the largest online stores in RuNet charged for piracy

The company "Sistema Mass Media" (SMM, Mass Media System), managing media company "AFK Sistem", has sued the online store Video.ru for distributing the television series "Brothers detectives".

SMM accused Video.ru in piracy. Representatives of Video.ru, for its part, acknowledged that the store did not have the right to trade "Brothers detectives", and explained the incident as a technical error. SMM rejected the proposed Video.ru "small compensation". Rightful owner intends to recover from the online store 24 million rubles.

Video.ru is one of the largest online stores in Runet selling video content. According to its own data company, with monthly site Video.ru downloaded tens of thousands of movies, serials and TV shows.
